Day Service

This is both a site-based (Day Centre) and community-based offering for our service users to improve their existing social skills and social networks, daily living skills, confidence, self-esteem, lifestyles, and physical fitness.

More social events are offered, such as discos, Sport Tournaments, culture days, fashion days, coffee mornings, talent shows, BBQs, pub lunches, etc. We also have an education hub where skills acquisition programmes are provided.

Day Services

At our DAY CENTRE, our service users are offered the opportunity to try new activities and experiences or are encouraged to engage in programmes and activities of their passion.

Our daycare services are designed to engage and enable our service to live a more fulfilling life and promote their personal development. Our programmes are organised specifically to meet identified individual needs, for example:

  • Improve service users’ existing skills or learn something new.

  • Promote their social inclusion to be part of the wider community.

  • Develop their social skills, daily living skills, confidence, and self-esteem.

  • Prepare service users to eventually go on to other challenges.

  • Maintain the enjoyment of their passion..

  • Supporting people to access college, or voluntary / paid work and providing support in situ

Learning and Development

We have an education hub where skills acquisition programmes are provided. Activities provided include Basic IT skills, Digital Inclusion, eg Texting, emailing, Literacy and Numeracy, Money Awareness, budgeting and Banking, Employability skills (Skills for Work), Basic Life Skills, Home Safety Awareness, Community Safety Awareness, Anger/Anxiety Management, Arts and Craft, Basic Makaton sessions, Domestic skills, such shopping, cleaning, as cooking, baking, Travel Training

Many of our service users use this as a drop-in facility for unstructured events or fun activities. We organise social events such as discos, small-scale fundraising events, coffee mornings, talent shows, BBQs, Pub lunches, etc. We actively support our service users to access local community resources including sports centres and gyms, colleges, community centres, theatres, etc.

Recreation and Relaxation

Activities include multi-sensory therapy, swimming, cycling, walking, seaside trips, multi-sports, dancing, ten-pin bowling, snooker, table tennis, trampolining, bingo, music therapy, cinema, theatres, picnics, shopping trips, outings to places of interest such as aquariums, museums, and exhibitions, etc., board games, karaoke, arts and crafts, painting, and colouring and many more.
